上海市建平中学简介

学校概况  上海市建平中学地处上海浦东新区，创建于1944年，2005年被命名为首批上海市实验性示范性高级中学。现任校长程红兵，语文特级教师，上海市特级校长，全国师德先进个人、全国五一劳动奖章获得者、上海市劳动模范。

    学校占地面积39191平方米，建筑面积38074平方米、绿化面积13717平方米，学校教学设施现代。现有44个高中教学班，2100余名学生，其中住宿学生900多人，教师有180人。

    学校的办学模式：合格 + 特长 规范 + 选择；培养目标：自立精神、共生意识、科学态度、人文情怀、领袖气质；文化精神：开放、民主、和谐、进取。2001年起学校通过了香港品质保证局ISO9001（2000）质量管理认证。

学校通过实行分层次教学、学分制管理、模块化课程建设等，建立与经济发展相适应的人才培养模式。学校每学期开设一百多门选修课，包括法语、日语、西班牙语等课程，学生社团有五十多个，其中“04论坛”、“OM社”、“心连心社”荣获上海市明星社团。学校还专门为留学生开设了HSK语言课和中国文化课。近几年来，建平学生在国际国内各类比赛中获奖已达6000多人次，机器人、信息学、篮球等项目已成为建平中学的特色项目。

建平中学还是上海市首批获得外国留学生招生资格和独立聘请外教资格的学校之一，学校的国际化发展是学校发展的重要目标之一。学校先后招收过澳大利亚、加拿大、德国、芬兰、新加坡、韩国等国家的学生来校就读，参与国际AFS和YFU组织的交换学生项目。学校积极参与国际的学术交流活动。先后有美国、英国、加拿大、澳大利亚等国的教师来校任教。学校每年组织学生和教师出国培训和考察，并和国际上9所中学建立了友好关系。

Brief Introduction:  Shanghai Jianping High Scholl, founded in 1944, is located in Pudong New Area, Shanghai China. it was named “The First Experimental Model School” in China by the city government in 2005.  Mr. Chen Hongbing, a special-grade teacher, is now the headmaster of the school.

   The school campus occupies more than 39,191 square meters with a building area of 21,100 square meters and green space of 11.800 square meters. The school is well equipped with modern teaching and learning facilities with the seating capacity of 44 classes and a total number of 21,000 students, of whom 900 students live on campus. Now the school has a staff of 180.

The school objective is to cultivate its students into valuable and competitive citizens of the world with the qualities of“Independence， Scientism， Humanism， Awareness of  Coexistence and Leadership”.  The ideology of“Qualification Plus Individuality；Standardization Plus Option”is the school curriculum policy. It highly values the students’ overall-ability development required by society, besides their academic success. In 2001, Jianping was awarded ISO9001 Quality Management Certificate by Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency and it enables the educational administration to be more objective and reliable.  

To seek to help its students realize their fullest intellectual and personal potential so that they can fit in with the development of the economy, the school designs and practices a diverse curriculum, for example, multi-level teaching and leaning of English and math, credit system and module curriculum. In addition to the state-required courses, the school offers over 100 optional courses based on school-developed textbooks including French, Japanese and Spanish, etc. The students have organized more than 50 students’ societies or clubs to seek their personal development and enrich life experience. 04 Forum—a student’s debating society, OM Club—an intellect challenging club and Heart-to-Heart Society—an organization for charitable activities, have won the title of Star clubs in Shanghai. Also, the HSK courses of the Chinese language and the Chinese culture are offered to international students. The number of prize winners in different subjects has reached 6000 in the past few years. The computer projects and girls’ basketball team have become the distinguished parts of the school.

Jianping High School is one of the schools that have the qualifications to enroll foreign students. To promote the internationalization of the school is one of the major objectives of the school. It has received students from Australia, Canada, Germany, Finland, Singapore and South Korea. Some students of Jianping High School have joined in the AFS and YFU programs as exchange students in the past few years. Many international teachers from America, Great Britain, Canada, and Australia have been invited to teach in the school and some teachers of the school have been sent abroad for short-term training or exchange activities, resulting in the continued establishment and maintaining of the good relations with many foreign schools.
